Background
- Started freelancing for The Oregonian in high school and have been immersed in journalism since.
- Currently a sports reporting intern with Ducks Sports Authority, the University of Oregon affiliate of Yahoo! Sports. I cover Ducks football, basketball and baseball, attending home games and weekly press conferences.
- I also write a column bi-monthly for FishDuck.com, an Oregon football analysis and fan site. This has allowed me to supplement traditional sports reporting with opinion writing in which I can cover a wide range of topics.
Future
- I aspire to become a beat reporter for a nationally recognized publication, print or digital. Although I enjoy reporting on games and press conferences, I want to tackle tougher sports writing assignments in the future. I want to tell stories that humanize coaches and athletes, making them more than a name and a number on a field.
